Intimate Worlds: Reading for Intimate Affects in Video Games

On April 6th, 2018, I presented my master’s thesis, titled “Intimate Worlds: Reading for Intimate Affects in Video Games.” In this thesis I examine three games – Overwatch, The Last Guardian, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – for the sensations of intimacy that they create through their formal and aesthetic structures. The presentation has been well-received by developers, academics and video game fans alike.
